I was pretty aware of this from before, but mine was lighting and perspective of the human drawing since I preferred nature photography and oil painting until a few years ago.
I was pointed out earlier this week that my background and OC don't match in lighting and perspective. So, I decided to use 3D CG as a reference like the "Time of Eve" I read in CGWORLD (Japanese CG magazine) earlier this year. I never watched the film, but the staff supposedly used 3D CG model as a reference before drawing OC. I felt like this technique was a bit like a cheating so I didn't use it until now.
Conclusion: I should have done this before!!
Anyway, here it is.
This was more like a test to try out the new method. I think I could get more accurate lighting with this than before.

Well, I wanted to portray a calm atmosphere, and it was weird having his eyes glittering when light was coming from his back instead of front.
