okay... simple looking as it maybe, it took me ~10 days to create this one.
If you include the planning/practice stage- it will be 13 days... orz
This includes:
manga/anime character 3D CG vector typography design digital water color
The glass, bottle, and ice are 3D CG created for the first time after 3 days of practice. The brush I used was my own custom one, one of five brush set. Shadows and lighting- I tried to be careful but... lines may have turned out rougher than usual because of my attempt to draw more wrinkles to clothing. I will try to improve more on the way.
And... to add one more, this was more complex piece of work before I cut out a lot to make it simple. My real goal for this was simplicity. Making things simple take longer than usual, and I feel that I could have done more.
However, everything here has a purpose.
Explanation: glass: Original design, but I tried to go for a similar one as iittala's Kartio. It has wider mouth since I like it better. However, although it's simple, it gives out an air that's different from other glass shapes. bottle: was created with ramune bottles in mind. Although not of a similar shape, I like ramune bottles and sounds they make.
I wanted something refreshing and something that anyone of any age could see. Because of that, I didn't use wineglass or wine bottles I used as a 3D CG practice.
Softwares used: Cinema 4D R11 studio Comic Studio Ex 4.0 Corel Painter X Photoshop CS2/3
Yes... I was working on this piece more than version 1. Since it seemed too simple, I added version 1. It was a bit shocking to find out in the end that the piece I spent ~two weeks on turned out something that I could make within a day or two. LOL
But, I didn't know how to make a bottle and cup in Cinema 4D so the time spent learning new techniques was more than actual production.
Yes, it's tilted a bit on purpose so it wouldn't look too flat- it's facing into the screen and wanted the character kind of leaning back on the bottle.
really!!
bye!

Wrinkles look fine, maybe shade more to that shape. Maybe.
I'll be quiet now.
but...hmmm... I might have overdid the bottle.
(jots down note) on shadows.
Thanks for wonderful tips as usual
Yes, me too.
