My recent painting- fantasy themed since I did Sci Fi last time with Room. This is sorta concept art practice or i.e. procrastination.
It first started with the drawing at the bottom, then as things progressed, I added things here and there- extended the page here and there and since it seems to continue forever, I will end this piece here.
I first colored the sky but erased it since high contrast part of BW seemed more appealing.
This is my first painting where I didn't really think and let my imagination flow. Prior character designs- nah- as usual. Reference- nah except a bit on a dragon. Weapon designs?-nah as usual. Composition?- fixed it on the way so I kept on changing the dimension of this graphic.
LOL Now, must do other work!
Softwares Used: SAI Photoshop CS3
Time it took: On and off for 1.5 wks (mostly off)
Its outline/rough draft is here for anyone interested, but I never really have a proper rough draft.
Crazy-than-usual progress of this image can be viewed in my blog entry.
:3 I guess my random imagination worked this time around for some reason. If I didn't stop there, it would have went on and on...
I tried to incorporate camera lens knowledge I got from reading those catalogues. This one was fisheye though the real lens probably looks more distorted.
Yeah, they looks really cool ^^. I'm stuck on high and low angles so far (I think, I should get comfortable with them first and then switch to something so complicated as fisheye ).
This work really stands out ne!

I wanted one of those fisheye lens effect. Then, it just started developing on its own.
I often just draw a figure from front and draw an arrow to where I want to look from. Then, try to draw it from that perspective. Often, it fails.
